batman - der mann der lacht
26 February 2025
This comic is about the first clash between Batman and Joker and it starts like a horror comic. It seems that the appearance of the Batman triggers the madness in the crimminal world. This is especially true for one person. Please read my personal, spoilerfree review of the german issue.

The Man Who Laughs - Der Mann der lacht
The story starts with a horrible crime scene. All corpses have an evil grin in the face. Batman and Commissioner Gordon are evaluating the case and trying to find a motive for the brutality.
VIP’s with no connection to each other gets brutally murdered and chaos breaks loose in Gotham.
The story escalates quickly and the whole town is in danger.
Detective Comics 784-786
Did you know that Gotham was the hometown of the Green Lantern (Alan Scott) during the 1940’s?
The story tells us about a serial killer in the present that mimics the behaviour of a serial killer that Alan Scott could not stop.
Batman is on the case and together with Alan Scott they are trying to stop the killer.
Drawings and Color
I am not an artist. So, the drawings and the color are okay for me. I like the realistic touch of the drawings.
Review
The Man Who Laughs
Is just great. I like the dark humor that the Joker presents. Of course, he is a psychopath and has to be stopped.
Detective Comics 784-786
I was surprised to find the story in the paperpack from Panini. It’s an interesting story with a look at the differences between Green Lantern and Batman. The first one is a light of hope and the second one is a dark knight. Interesting how the methods differ. It is questionable how a superhero from the 1940s look like a young men in a modern setting. Maybe it is all in Batmans imagination.
